Overview
Travel to the spectacular Caribbean coast of Costa Rica to learn about sea turtles and assist in research and protection efforts. Then scuba dive and/or snorkel in the blue waters off the Pacific coast with these magnificent creatures and a wealth of marine mammals.
Academic Treks, the academic adventure division of Broadreach, offers summer programs for high school and college students that blend adventure, hands-on learning, community service, cultural immersion and international travel. The 21-33 day summer trips focus on marine biology, Spanish language and environmental science and qualify for high school and/or college credit, as well as community service credit. Program locations include the Caribbean, Hawaii, British Columbia, Ecuador, Panama, Costa Rica, Honduras and Mexico.
Academic Credit
Academic credit is available.
Academic Treks participants can earn high school and/or college credit with the successful completion of an AT program. All AT courses are designed to meet college level accreditation standards in which students earn college credits through Lesley University for an additional fee. High school credit is usually attained through prior approval at your school.
