Study the awe-inspiring whales, sea lions, seals and dolphins that congregate off the coast each summer. Learn and work alongside professional scientists and sea kayak remote waters with breathtaking vistas. Academic Treks, the academic adventure division of Broadreach, offers summer programs for high school and college students that blend adventure, hands-on learning, community service, cultural immersion and international travel. The 21-33 day summer trips focus on marine biology, Spanish language and environmental science and qualify for high school and/or college credit, as well as community service credit. Program locations include the Caribbean, Hawaii, British Columbia, Ecuador, Panama, Costa Rica, Honduras and Mexico. Academic Credit Academic credit is available.  Academic Treks participants can earn high school and/or college credit with the successful completion of an AT program. All AT courses are designed to meet college level accreditation standards in which students earn college credits through Lesley University for an additional fee. High school credit is usually attained through prior approval at your school. Eligibility Pacific Whale Treks requires completion of a high school biology or ecology course. Housing/Accommodation • Dormitory • Apartment / Flat All housing is pre-arranged by Academic Treks. Program Costs $4,400-$5,000 Costs Include:  All program costs included except airfare and spending money. Financial Aid Yes. Applicants will have the opportunity to apply for financial aid through the Broadreach Foundation. Dates 2, 3, and 4 week programs running in June, July, and August.
