Overview
 Experience India by learning Indian Arts, Crafts, Languages, Cooking or Yoga, living in a Kerala village at the Vijnana Kala Vedi Cultural Centre. You may also volunteer by Teaching English to poor village children.
You will have individual lessons, for most subjects, and can stay for any length of period in the centre. You can have two hours of lessons for one subject and one hour for another subject and may also decide to teach for one hour, from Mondays thru Fridays, and also have free lessons on Yoga and Martial Art.
The Centre provides single room accommodation, in rented houses scattered in the village, freshly prepared Kerala vegetarian food and moreover offer you a relaxed family ambience in the centre. All staff and Teachers can communicate with you in English.
The Centre is a recognised Cultural Educational Institution in India since 1977, when it was created as a Charitable organisation and receives around 350 students every year from around the world.
Eligibility
Any age students are welcome. An open mind and respect to local culture and customs and a sincere wish is the only requirement. Students wishing to volunteer, should be from an English speking country or should possess certificates making them eligible to Teach
Financial Aid
Yes.
If you are reccommended by your University or Country, you may apply to the Indian Council for Cultural Relations, New Delhi, for a scholarship
Dates
Program is open through out the year.
Students can decide on their dates and length of stay and then write to the centre.
It is advisable to confirm your registration at the earliest, since the maximum capacity in the centre is only 15-20
