Overview
School Profile
The Soros Foreign Language School was founded in 1996 under the auspices of the Open Society Fund Bosnia-Herzegovina, itself a guarantee of the seriousness and integrity of our approach to language training. The School is now a self-supporting, not-for-profit organisation. Our goal is to provide our learners with the high quality staff, equipment, and materials necessary for an efficient, modern and enjoyable language learning experience. Soros School offers a variety of language courses for adults and younger learners. We also offer special courses which are tailor-made for business and other clients. We aim to provide the best quality language teaching in Sarajevo.

Our Teachers are qualified with a degree in Philology from University of Sarajevo. They are native speakers of Bosnian, and have more than 5 years of experience in teaching Bosnian as a Foreign Language. They will help you improve your speaking, listening and comprehension skills, as well as grammar and vocabulary. The language of instruction is Bosnian to ensure that students get as much exposure to target language as possible. Teachers will also use interactive techniques such as role-plays, games and simulation of real life situations.

Course Overview
Bosnian language course is designed to teach you how to use Bosnian in your everyday lives, not simply teach you the rules of grammar. There is a strong emphasis on spoken practice and functional knowledge of the grammar.
Each lesson is of 60 minutes duration. Between two lessons you will have a short break, of 10 – 15 minutes. Classes are usually scheduled in the evening, but we can also offer classes during the day if the minimum of 4 learners register for any time that suits them.

On Saturdays you will have an opportunity to spend a day outside Sarajevo with your classmates and teacher. You will be able to see and learn about the unique cultural and historical heritage of B-H, and also to practise Bosnian in a real life situation. Our trips facilitate an exchange of ideas between the visitor and the local population. Our guides go to extra length to assist in making the experience as genuine and honest as possible. Cultural trips are organised in partnership with Green Visions BH.

Maximum class size: 6 students

Eligibility
You do not need any prior knowledge of either Bosnian or English to join the classes. If you are not an absolute beginner, you will be expected to take a short placement test before signing up for the class, to determine your language level and ensure placement in the right level.
