Overview
Queenstown Resort College offers paid job placements in the tourism and hospitality industry. All placements are in Queenstown, New Zealand’s premier tourist destination and adventure capital of the world.
QRC internships are ideal to start your working holiday or intern abroad, to include in your gap year experience or to complete the practical internship requirements of academic studies.
Queenstown Resort College will prepare you for your internship with two weeks training and induction, where you will learn about the local area and industry and meet your peers. You will learn how to be a true ambassador of Queenstown. This is followed by a 12 week paid work placement.
All placements are entry to mid-level positions with Queenstown tourism and hospitality operators. Your placement will match your employment and/or educational background. Queenstown Resort College will continue to support you in the workplace.
Academic Credit
Academic credit is available.
Participants can credit this course to the academic component of their qualification. QRC will liaise with the student's home education provider to ensure all academic conditions are met.
Eligibility
Entry Requirements:
Intermediate-level English language ability;
Skills and experience in tourism and hospitality are an advantage.
Visa Requirements:
You can apply as a student intern or working holiday candidate.
Student and trainee applicants: Student interns must be enrolled in an undergraduate programme in tourism, hospitality or a related field of study. A Work Visa or Permit (Student and Trainee Work) is available from select countries.
Working holiday and gap year applicants: New Zealand has a number of Working Holiday Schemes for 18 to 30 year olds from select countries.

Program Costs
Approximately NZ$ 2,000 for training period and placement fee. See the Queenstown Resort College website for published fees.

Include: Full orientation and induction to the area;
Visa support and assistance;
Organisation of travel and medical insurance;
Internship matching service before arrival;
Two firm pending job offers upon arrival;
Setting up a NZ bank account;
24/7 support and assistance during internship;
Performance support supplied by employer;
QRC certificate upon successful completion;
Final day evaluation and farewell function;
Student interns receive advice on academic project development during orientation
