Overview
The School of Applied and Engineering Physics offers a modern program that provides students with deep, high-quality, and applicable education for their successful careers in the fast-changing world of high technologies and Physics. The program is oriented on modern technologies and advanced physics, and our alumni will be excellent candidates for jobs in hi-tech companies world-wide, or they will continue in their PhD studies here or abroad.
The program is based on a long tradition of teaching and world class scientific research, both applied and fundamental, at the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering. Our professors work in cutting-edge science and technology, and most of them have held positions at the biggest labs and/or universities in USA, Europe, Russia and Japan.
Applied and Engineering Physics combines both teamwork and individual effort in a project-oriented education. The course materials are often computer based. The individual approach allows students plenty of contact with professors. The students practice the acquired knowledge in the school's well-equipped labs, individual research projects, and in hi-tech companies during their internships. Our students also develop teamwork and managerial skills in order to become leaders in their respective careers.
We offer a 3-year MSc program that follows a Bc degree awarded at the Czech Technical University or elsewhere. We also accept students after the graduation from an "Classes préparatoires" for an "Ecole d'ingénieur" (for students coming from a French-like educational system).
We provide courses and research projects in these principal fields:
* Materials and Solid State Physics
* Computational Physics
* Optics and Laser Physics
* Plasma Physics
In collaboration with our experienced tutors, further optional and facultative courses can be selected from the university-wide course offer in order to best help you fulfill your future dreams.
