These can take place at any time and last from four to twenty weeks. The goal of a Personal Passage is to help students create their own experience by providing the methods, as well as the space and freedom, to make their experience happen for themselves. Unlike traveling to a new land alone, we give the support, contacts, and basic means to know a place and a culture intimately. The possibilities are endless. A month before a personal journey begins, we start to develop an itinerary through e-mail conversations. Upon arrival, an educator orients students to local customs and traditions, health and safety issues. Visits are arranged to possible internship locations. Once students have settled into home stay and have started on internships, the educator checks in with them on a weekly basis. However, if need be, they are available 24-hours a day. If students wish to go trekking or travel further at the end of the program, we help them determine the various options and costs. This type of program is for those who are motivated and independent. It can be the perfect opportunity to explore a new culture at one's own pace and style. Unlike traveling to a new land alone, we give the support, contacts, and basic means to know a place and a culture intimately. Eligibility Mature and motivated individuals of all ages. It does not include visa fees for Nepal/India, international travel to and from Nepal/India, internship payments, food outside home stay, airport departure tax, medical expenses, and personal expenses. Dates Personal Passages are available at any time for durations of 4 to 20 weeks. Deadlines The application deadline is two months before the program starts.
