Overview
The goals of the Japanese Studies summer program are for students to gain a deeper understanding of Tokyo and Japanese society and acquire Japanese language skills and the ability to communicate in Japanese at an elementary level. This is accomplished through coursework in Asian studies taught in English, Japanese language courses, a field trip program, and the leadership of CIEE staff.

Costs
Include: The CIEE fee for 2008 includes an optional on-site airport meet and greet, tuition, housing (including breakfast and local commuter pass), orientation, full-time program leadership and support, cultural activities, local excursions, field trips, pre-departure advising, visa fees, and a CIEE iNext travel card which provides insurance and other travel benefits.
