Overview
Projects Abroad sends volunteers abroad to 17 countries to do internships and service projects. Since being founded in 1992, we have grown to a team of 130 people around the world that sends 2000 volunteers annually. Volunteers can go at any time, for as long as they wish.
We have placements available in a host of care centers in Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Overall, they cater for orphans, children in care and disabled children from age 2 -18. In many cases your day will begin early when you are needed to help the children get ready for school. You might have the middle of the day free, or you might like to help on other social care activities during the day. For the younger children there is often a nursery attached to the home where you can help, or perhaps you might even go with the children to school and help with a little English. When the older children come home at 4.30 you can help with their homework or organize games and activities for them before dinner.
Some care centers are more inclusive in their approach, teaching both life skills and handcrafts to the older children. If you are good at art, crafts or even gardening there's a lot you can do.

Program Costs
Per month: $1,995 for one month, $2,395 for two months, $2,695 for three months, $545 for each additional month.
Costs
Include: Food, Accommodation, Health & Travel insurance, in-country transportation and support.
