Graduates from International Traffic Management, who are awarded a degree in Bachelor of Built Environment, are likely to find jobs in the business community and the public sector. Just think of jobs such as mobility manager, mobility consultant, traffic researcher, traffic and transport planner or project supervisor.
Course Planning
In the first year you will become acquainted with the professional fields of logistics as well as mobility. In project groups you will deal with four projects: location and accessibility, space for IKEA, global distribution, and international traffic studies. Topics of courses delivered include packaging/loading/transport, intelligent transport systems, traffic regulation, traffic studies, transport management, economics, statistics, law and traffic design. Moreover, training sessions in English, Dutch, calculus and communication skills are scheduled in the first year.
In the second year you will attend classes in passenger transport, zoning plans, traffic behaviour and safety, communications, main roads, design and appraisal, traffic regulation, land exploitation, geographic information systems, research, space, mobility and environment, operations research, junction design and traffic law.
In the third year you will focus on traffic dilemmas, mobility and management, quality and passenger transport, mobility and space, traffic behaviour and safety, mobility and technique, and microscopic simulation models. All students perform two three-month placements. These placements allow you to learn as you work at a company that matches your interests and ambitions, which provides you with on-the-job experience.
In the final year you will gain in-depth knowledge on mobility, traffic project management, aviation economy, management science, operations research, entrepreneurship in passenger traffic, dynamic traffic management and traffic research.
