Freiburg, Germany
Located on the edge of the beautiful Black Forest, Freiburg is a great place to spend your summer. The city is known for its sunny weather, its historic downtown, and its relaxed pace of life. Browse through locally made art pieces at the Kartoffelmarkt, get a stunning panorama of the Swiss Alps from a cable car, and enjoy a piece of the famous Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte. Freiburg is easy to navigate by foot and public transportation and offers many opportunities to experience German culture and have fun with your new friends.

The Classes
Study German together with a small group (maximum 15) teens from around the world! Classes are held in a neoclassical building in the city center for three hours every weekday morning. The focus is on listening comprehension and on speaking, so that you will be ready to communicate in German outside the classroom in no time! To give you a solid foundation in the language, grammar and vocabulary are also being covered.

Cultural Activities and Excursions
Discover Freiburg and learn more about German culture through afternoon activities and excursions! Highlights may include a soccer match, a concert by local musicians, a kayak tour, or a visit to a town across the Swiss border.

Accommodations
A homestay with a local family is the best way to immerse yourself in the daily life in Germany. Host families come in all shapes and sizes, but what they all have in common is a strong interest in sharing their culture. Your host family will provide breakfast and dinner each day.

Eligibility
This program is open to students 15 and older who have studied German for the equivalent of at least one year in high school. Freiburg is a great choice for students who really want to work on their German, participate in lots of activities and meet other teens from around the world.
