Overview
Unique in the world, backed by over 30 years of experience and dependability, ActionQuest offers sailing and scuba diving live-aboard adventures for teenagers.
Our programs are co-ed, non-competitive and annually attract more than 450 teens from the United States, the Far East, South America and Europe. For beginners and more experienced shipmates, ActionQuest offers varied adventures spanning the globe. Our core programs in the British Virgin Islands offer the broadest and most comprehensive training. For those who really want to get away, we also have global programs in the tropical South Seas -- Tahiti and Polynesia -- the Galapagos Islands -- sailing off to coastal towns and islands in the Mediterranean -- and Australia, to sail and dive the Great Barrier Reef.
Voyages are exciting no matter which destination you choose. You will learn real-life skills, yet the program tone is lighthearted as everyone learns more when they are having fun. The fun leads to learning in the way that a journey leads to the destination.
Under the guidance of professional staff, shipmates live aboard sailing vessels within a crew of eight to twelve teenagers of similar age. It is the shipmates who take the helm of their own voyage in every sense of the phrase. Each plays a part in the running of the vessel, with roles and responsibilities changing on a daily basis.
ActionQuest is more than a voyage with instruction; it is a total life experience. If you are ready to join the crew and share life aboard, your voyage will, as many have said, exceed your expectations and turn out to be one of the most memorable experiences of your life. You’ll never forget it. The days will fly by as you do things you never thought possible. You’ll make new friends, gain new insights, and take pride in new skills as you expand your personal horizons. Most of all, you will have an excellent adventure and come home with a new measure of self-reliance.
