Overview
Come study music in the “ideal Renaissance city” of Urbino. The New York Times calls Urbino, “Italy at its best” This magnificent town, the birthplace of the famous painter Raffaello, is nestled in one of the most picturesque areas of Italy. Surrounded by the rolling hills of the Marché region near the Adriatic Coast, Urbino presents an ideal location for summer music study owing to its history, breathtaking landscape, wonderful climate and serenity. It is a very safe, walled city which is isolated just enough to preserve its charm. Living in Urbino transports you back in time to the wonders of glorious Renaissance Italy.
Summer of 2006 programs include Piano, Voice, Strings, Woodwinds, Jazz, and Conversational Italian.
Activities will include daily master classes, rehearsals, student and faculty concerts and cultural trips to castles, picturesque mountain towns and beach resorts. There will be many opportunities to perform.
Students live in modern, attractive double rooms with private bath at the University of Urbino. Meals will be taken in the university dining room, which allows students to sample an excellent variety of regional cuisine.
