Overview
Work in a local health clinic, vaccinate children and take part in rural health outreach programs. Earn valuable hands on and professional medical experience while working side by side with local doctors, immersed in a small community, performing meaningful development work, and exploring the cultural and natural beauty of Oaxaca. The dual focus of development work and adventures enable tremendous growth experiences for all program participants.

Real projects..…real experience! Work side be side with local health care providers and community members during your Health Care Internship. The focus of your development project is determined by your skills, your interests, and the needs of the local community. Experiential learning combines with weekly adventures, and productive volunteer work to form a comprehensive and unforgettable internship experience. The ProMexico programs are highly rewarding, safe, and personalized experiences.

Academic credit is available.  Internship credit from your home institution.

Program Costs
Program fees are based on the location and duration of your program. Please visit www.myproworld.org/fees

Costs Include:  Program fees support our host community economies in the forms of project materials purchases, local salaries, host family payments, and local purchases. Program fees include: full room and board, domestic transportation, 24 hour safety and medical services, daily Spanish classes, and funding of development projects and internships. The program fee also includes multiple trips to Zapotec ruins, cultural activities, and visits to rural communities.

Financial Aid
Yes. ProWorld scholarships and many private scholarships are available. We also offer fundraising support.

Dates
Programs start every month of the year. Applications are due 1 – 3 months before the program start.
