Overview
Students who enroll in the Italian Language and Culture Program at the University of Florence have the option of attending a five week summer course, 10 week trimester courses, or courses for an entire academic year. With Italian language courses of all levels, from beginner to advanced, every student will have a chance to develop their grammar, conversational ability, and vocabulary skills in an appropriate environment. In addition to language instruction, each student may enroll in a series of cultural electives to give them a more rounded perspective of the Italian culture. Examples of cultural electives include Italian Literature, History of Art, and Renaissance Art and Culture. Academic Credit
Academic credit is available.
All GSE program participants attend internationally accredited foreign universities. Upon completion of courses each participant's home university will be issued an official transcript from the foreign university attended. GSE also assists students with credit transfer pre-approval prior to attending the program.
Eligibility
Students attending Global Student Experience (GSE) study abroad programs must be 18 years of age, a high school graduate, and have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better. No language requirements exist, however, GSE recommends at least one college level language course for any student attending a foreign language program.

All students will be housed in shared student-apartments with other GSE program participants. Housing option preference is determined on a first come first serve basis. The option of living with international students exists, but is limited in availability.
Program Costs
GSE offers a wide selection of study abroad destinations and terms to choose from. Summer study abroad programs typically range in price from $3,000-$6,000, while quarter and semester programs range from $7,000-$13,000. Costs
Include: GSE programs offer the total study abroad experience! Every aspect of your study abroad program will be extensively planned for your convenience. Each program participant will receive enrollment, tuition, and transcripts from an internationally accredited foreign university. Additionally, every program includes pre-departure and arrival orientation, Onsite Program Directors, housing in shared student-apartments, weekend excursions, cultural events, pre-paid cell phones, health insurance, a transportation pass, exceptional customer service, and much more!
Financial Aid
Yes.
In addition to state and federal aid or loans that student are currently receiveing students may apply for GSE scholarships ranging from $250-$1,000. Dates
GSE offers summer, semester, and academic year study abroad programs in Florence, Italy. Typically students must apply at least three months in advance in order to be eligible for programs. Application deadlines vary from program to program. GSE recommends planning and applying for study abroad programs early as they frequently reach capacity prior to application deadline.
