Overview
Immerse yourself in the rich culture and traditions of Japan! From geishas, tea ceremonies and Shinto shrines to manga, anime and Harajuku fashion, present-day Japan is home to a unique combination of modern and traditional culture. There is a strong desire to preserve Japan's rich past; however, there is also a push for modern innovations and cutting-edge technology. Speeding bullet trains arrive on schedule to the second; ordering food is simplified with plastic replicas of menu items; and household toilets might have more buttons than your remote control!
