Overview
 The Center for Advanced Business Studies (CABS) is a diversification center of the business education and English-language programs of City University / VŠM (CU/VSM) engaged in providing business out reach and training programs. Our curriculum makes efficient use of the vast accumulated business experience and know-how of CU/VSM employees in both our business and academic programs.
CABS offers summer visiting scholar programs to scholars and professional researchers. Scholars may join City University as CABS Summer Visiting Scholar in July for one to three months. All summer visiting scholars will receive a certificate of scholastic performance from CABS. Application deadline is April 30.
We offer field research support for academic researchers who primarily study central European issues. CABS Field Research Support include (1) Pre-field trip consulting to design the field trip and providing professional suggestions for the trip, (2) Transportation and accommodation arrangements, (3) Meeting and interview arrangements and support, (4) Cultural consulting for the field trip, and (5) Extra services such as sightseeing, translation, and use of City University facilities.
We have summer business English training programs including Business English and Oral Business Communication. These courses are designed to improve your business English and negotiation skills. Training includes a variety of reading, vocabulary, speaking and listening activities designed to meet the needs of participants.
Certificates of completion will be issued to those who have successfully completed and satisfied program requirements. The certificates are registered and recognized by CU/VSM. Official reference services are available at CABS upon request.

Accommodation fee includes electricity, water, laundry facilities and a TV room.
Each visiting scholar will have a room equipped with kitchen, shower room, bath room, a living room, and a bed room. The room is fully furnished. Linens will be supplied from City University.
There are two laundry rooms equipped with washing machines and dryers. Detergent is not supplied.
Meal services are not available.
All visiting scholars are strongly recommended to have their own international insurance prior to their arrivals.
Program Costs
Basic costs of Summer Visiting Scholar Program (Year 2005):
Accommodation fee (per month): 9,000 SKK (Slovak krown)
Visiting Scholar Fee (per month): 13,000SKK
Business English Training Fee and Field Research Support fee are vary.
Visiting scholars applying for the accommodations, accommodation fee for the first month must be paid with the visiting scholar fee.
Euro has not been used widely. Please exchange to Slovak krown (SKK) for your own expenses.
