Overview
Volunteer Society Network Nepal was founded by a group of development workers, including social activists, cultural and tourism experts, and ex-volunteers. From the early stages of development, Volunteer Society Nepal has been mobilizing international and local volunteers in various programs, providing training and work experience, which contribute to the development of Nepal.
Volunteer Society Network Nepal is also involved in supporting some of the more unfortunate children of the country, in an effort to improve their education and development at the grass roots level, by awarding scholarships for primary and secondary schools and strengthening community organizational capabilities.
In 2001, Volunteer Society Nepal began a concentrated effort to help develop the managerial and organizational capacity of local institutions, communities, and individuals, to increase the number of self-sustainable improvements throughout Nepal Voluntary work in Nepal can be an extremely rewarding and life-changing experience.Upon arrival, and throughout their stay, volunteers will receive a warm welcome from the Nepali people, who are famous for their honesty and hospitality.
Volunteers will live and work in one of the worlds most diverse countries, with geography that ranges from the peak of the Himalaya to the tropical heat of the flat Tarai; from the chaos of Kathmandu to the tranquility of the many rural villages.
Volunteer Society Nepal, in conjunction with many local Nepali people, has created an environment from which volunteers will get a maximum benefit:
Developing work experience in a marginal society and third world country
