The bairro Rio Vermelho is located between the historic center (about 15 minutes by public transportation) and has the best beaches. The bairro is famous for its “Festa de Yemanya”, an afro-brazilian tradition celebrating one of the Orixas (afro-brazilian goddesses), which over the years has developed into a big street party. The area is known for many famous clubs, bars and restaurants making it a perfect starting point for your visit. Since Salvador da Bahia experiences beautiful weather, classes are often held outside in the garden, and topics center around students' interests; about their experiences in Brazil, and about the city itself. Housing/Accommodation • Homestay / Host Family • Apartment / Flat Program Costs 2 weeks starting at $800 US Costs Include:  STANDARD: 4 lessons daily (20 lessons per week) or INTENSIVE: 6 lessons daily (30 lessons per week) Use of teaching materials and instructional documents.
