Overview
Athena Study Abroad was developed in an effort to bring study abroad back to what it was intended to be - true, cultural immersion programs designed by knowledgeable, caring professionals. Athena's study abroad program is located on the picturesque Greek island of Paros. Courses offered at Hellenic International Studies in the Arts (HISA), and students live at HISA beach apartments. US accredited transcripts available upon request.
Athena's Greece study abroad package includes: private accommodation, inter-island boat travel for excursions, museum and site fees, basic texts and supplies, studio and lab fees, festive dinners, HISA transcript, services of an on-site Resident Director, cultural excursions (standard trips to Delos, Myconos, Naxos, Santorini and Anti-Paros), promotional gifts (iPod or Elph digital camera), overseas insurance, arrangement of transcripts from U.S. accredited universities, if necessary (student pays cost of transcript), contribution to a world charity through Students Offering Support (S.O.S.), the charitable arm of Athena, and unparalleled personalized service.
NOTE: For an additional $350, students can go on an optional teacher-led 9-day academic and creative excursion to Samos and Aegean coast of Turkey (includes transportation, hotel, site fees and visa).
All students stay in single occupancy accommodation at the HISA Beach Apartments just on the edge of town a few meters off the beach. The rooms, all with full bath and kitchenette, are clean and comfortable. All rooms have private balconies. In this private, yet communal lodging space, students have their own cafe/lounge area with FREE unlimited LAN connections for laptops, a lovely rooftop garden, a film viewing area, and space to build artistic and personal relationships with the other participants.
The picturesque island of Paros is considered to be one of Greece's most beautiful island treasures. Paros' traditional villages of white-washed houses, narrow streets, flowered balconies, beautiful churches and hilly, vineyard-covered countrysides create the perfect backdrop for a study abroad experience of historic proportions.
