If you have a special focus, please let us know and we will provide special vocabularies and other assistance. From a cultural perspective, learning to speak Spanish - is like opening the door to an exciting new world. We will do our best to assist you in opening that door. Our program will help you progress from simple Survival Spanish to the vocabulary and grammatical structures needed to express more complicated and abstract ideas. Because our class size is kept small (maximum 6 students) you learn at a rapid pace. You will have the opportunity to meet many Spanish speaking Costa Ricans in your neighborhood, at the institute and at local businesses and shops. We hope you will make many friends while you are here and will consider this your second home. Most institutions also require that students take a final exam and receive an evaluation of their work and progress during the course. However, each university or college has a somewhat different system for granting credit so if a student is interested in this option, we can work with their Spanish or Study Abroad department to set up a program that will meet their specific credit requirements. Housing/Accommodation • Homestay / Host Family • Apartment / Flat • Hostel Home-Stay Additional $120 per week for all courses. Includes: Private room in local home, breakfast, dinner, and laundry. Program Costs Course length 1 week Regular $325 per week Intensive $425 per week 2 weeks Regular $296 per week Intensive $396 per week 3 weeks Regular $269 per week Intensive $369 per week 4 weeks + Regular $245 per week Intensive $345 per week Semester (12 weeks) $245 per week Costs Include:  Regular Course (Four hours per day) Schedule: Group classes are held from 9 am to 1 pm, Monday through Friday. Price includes airport pickup and drop-off, 20 hours of instruction per week, workbooks and materials. Intensive Course (Six hours per day) Schedule: Group classes are held from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Price includes airport pickup and drop-off, 30 hours of instruction per week, workbooks and materials. Dates Normal Spanish Programs are given throughout the entire year with new courses beginning every Monday. The following are dates and descriptions for semesters, special courses and special events. Semesters 20 hrs. of instruction per week. 12 weeks per semester. 4 credits per month. 12 credits per semester. Winter semester: 12-12-05 to 3-5-06. Spring semester: 3-13-06 to 6-4-06 Summer semester: 6-12-06 to 9-3-06 Fall semester: 9-11-06 to 12-3-06 December (05) Winter semester begins December 12th 2005 January Winter semester continues. February Winter semester continues. March Winter semester ends March 5th Spring semester begins March 13th 2006. Special programs for Botany with the National University of Heredia, Costa Rica. April Spring semester continues. May Spring semester continues. June Spring semester ends June 4th Summer semester begins June 12th Summer programs for High School students – June 12th to August 13th. July Summer semester continues.
