Baltic Studies
Autumn (33 ECTS) and Spring (34 ECTS)
The program introduces distinctive features of Baltic history, culture, politics, society, economy and nature. The Estonian context of the program is emphasized through language and culture courses.
Prometheus: Transition Studies
Autumn (34.5 ECTS) and Spring (30 ECTS)
The program focuses on transition experiences and current developments in Central and Eastern Europe and Russia, combining the perspectives of Political Science, Economics and Legal Studies. A unique opportunity to explore a country that recently experienced a transition "miracle".
Journalism
Autumn only (24 ECTS)
The program aims to connect theoretical studies of mechanisms of control over public word and minority media with practical analysis of journalism. The program offers applied courses on news sociology, media criticism and text analysis.
Ancient Near Eastern Philology and Cultures,
Autumn (24 ECTS) and Spring (24 ECTS)
The program is designed for upper-level BA and MA students wishing to broaden their understanding of the Old Testament and interested in Ancient Near Eastern studies.
Creation of the Rule of Law Society in Post-Communist Europe
Autumn only (24 ECTS)
program provides an excellent opportunity to study dynamic aspects of transitions carried out in Estonia, transforming it from a communist republic of the former Soviet Union to a democratic society.
Build Your Own Program
Build your own program from courses in: Math and Computer Science, Actuarial Mathematics, Semiotics and Culture Studies, Baltic Studies, Journalism, Law, Philosophy, Exercise and Sport Sciences, Estonian Nature, Philology and Regional Studies, Estonian and Russian language.
Summer Programs:
Courses offered in the summer include Political Sciences, International Business, Procedures in European International Courts, Post-Communist Transformations, Estonian and Russian as foreign languages.
All courses and programs listed use English as the language of instruction.
Founded in 1632, the University of Tartu has almost 18 000 students and is famous for research-based education and lively student traditions. Estonia offers a unique perspective on the successful transition to democracy and recent accession to the EU. Tartu is Estonias second largest city, with 100 000 people, and is located 2.5 hours from the airport and sea port of Tallinn, with connections to major cities in Europe and Russia. English is spoken widely here, and with students making up one fifth of the population, Tartu is a true University town.

All courses are awarded academic credit in European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).
Eligibility
For Semester/Year/Summer studies applicants must be students in good academic standing or graduates or a higher education institution in their home country.
Housing/Accommodation
Dormitory
Students must submit application for accommodation sent to them together with an admission letter from the University by the specified deadline.

Build Your Own Program: tuiton varies by faculty, 24-34 ECTS, average semester load 24 ECTS
Summer programs:
Social Sciences - 1500 EUR (includes tuition, accommodation, culture program)
Language programs - 240-320 EUR/module
Costs
Include: Tuition costs usually cover course work and some course materials.
Living expenses are extra:
Double room in a student dorm - 80 EUR/month + utilities
Personal living expenses -150-200 EUR/month
