Overview
Many Nepali people are unaware of issues. Therefore this program mobilizes volunteers mainly to work with the youth clubs, women's groups and other local organizations to teach them about proper health and sanitation habits.
Often health volunteers will work closely with the orphanages that CCSV-Nepal working with, in doing health checks, creating medical records, teaching the children about health and sanitation as a disease prevention method, and administering inoculations.
Responsibilities:
Health program is purely based on teaching the local community about health related issues. There may be issues that are taboo so speaking to CCSV-Nepal staff about what is appropriate and what is not is particularly important in this program. There will be issues with the language barrier, as most of the people you are working with will have limited English. Basic first aid can also be taught. This can be a more practical element of the program.
Any equipment/resources you feel you would need for the program you would need to bring.
Eligibility
Must be 18 years old and above,must have certification or proof of experience in a medical field, such as a medical student ID, EMT or paramedic certification, or nursing or physicians credentials. Due to the health risks involved, volunteers who are not properly trained in health care cannot work in this area.

Hostel
Accommodation: volunteers will either stay with a host family, within a rented house, within a hostel, We offer clean, comfortable living spaces, and volunteers will stay either in a single or shared room (depending on the host situation). Volunteers need to bring their own sleeping bags and other accessories.

2 Weeks US $ 600
4 weeks = US $ 700
6 Weeks = US $ 800
8 weeks = US $ 900
10 Weeks = US $ 1,000
12 weeks = US $ 1,100
Costs
Include: The program fee covers:
- Pick up / Drop at the airport

- Accommodation and main meal during training and placement
- Language Course / Cultural Orientation
- Regular support, Visit, Supervision during placement

- Transportation cost during sight seeing

Dates
minimum of 8 weeks program (year round) from 8 weeks to 12 weeks.
*** training/orientation starts every 1st of each month.
Regarding Visa: This must be tourist visa for maximum 5 months, during this period volunteers are unable to earn money or take paid work.
