Overview
Wilde Kitchen offers an insight into a french country kitchen, where demonstations are given in an informal, convivial environment, by Sinéad, home ec. teacher, living in Normandy for the last 13 years. The aim is to explain the art of entertaining, à la française, to students, by preparing simple dishes, with emphasis on local produce. Classes take place in Sinéad's newly-renovated kitchen in her 18th Normandy farmhouse, La Blonderie, using domestic appliances, so that students may reproduce, without difficulty, what they've learnt. Curious about culture too, Sinéad's Irish 'gift of the gab' ensures that students will learn a lot about everyday life in rural France too. The maximum number of students is 8.
Lunch with the Allart family follows. La Blonderie is situated 18 kms from Cherbourg, Normandy, 5 kms from the coast.
