Overview
Learn Spanish at CIEC in two different locations: San Antonio de Belén, one of the most charming and safest towns in Costa Rica, or in San Lorenzo, a beautiful valley surrounded by mountains. Enjoy Spanish classes in small groups and private tutoring while you learn about Latin American culture. Live with a tico family or at hotel near the school, enjoy our weekly cultural activities, attractive Volunteer program and adventure tours in Costa Rica.

Eligibility
CIEC accepts as students in the Regular Program and Intensive Program, only persons 16 years of age or older. For groups traveling together, the minimum age is 14. Under 16 years, persons must be accompanied by a parent or adult responsible who must be available while the student is participating in the program and/or staying with the host family.

Costs
Include: Payment include Spanish classes, textbook, workbook and all class materials, Final Studies Report, and Certificate of Attendance at the end of the course, all cultural activities related in “Spanish and Activities”, testing on the first day, orientation folder and orientation tour, airport transportation, free internet access, free fax service, free local phone calls, mail drop off at post office, lending of book from our library, and individual help for tour reservation. Homestay with private room, bathroom, 3 meals a day and laundry service, is included in case the students select this option. Additional cultural activities and weekend excursions are offered at extra and reasonable cost.
Dates
Programs start every Monday, almost year round. Most students stay three to six weeks, but shorter or longer stays are also possible. If you only have one week to study, we strongly recommend private classes in order to maximize your stay.
Since 2006, CIEC is opened during all the Official Holidays.
