Overview
The China Cultural History Tour 2010 (CCHT) has two spring/summer options:
*A China Tour, June 1 - June 21 (21 days), which travels to Shanghai, Hanzhou, Nanjing, Shaolin, Beijing, and Xian.
*A China plus Tibet Tour, June 1 – June 27 (27 total days), which is the China Tour plus Tibet.
These tours are a completely unique approach to university study abroad. They combine a thorough tour of major cultural and historical sites throughout China with intense academic study of the culture and history being experienced. They are an ideal learning environment because they integrate reading and writing with direct involvement to give a richer understanding of the subject than book learning alone could possibly provide.
Our tours are designed to involve students in varied cultural experiences in key cultural centers. We allow some time in major cultural centers such as Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Shaolin, Beijing and Xian to enable students to further explore for themselves the cultural environment of these great cities. Opera, dance, and acrobatic performances; and guided museum and site tours are included in the tour price. During the last 30 years, our staff has conducted more than 140 successful tours to Asia, Western and Eastern Europe, the Mediterranean, Russia, Israel, and Egypt. In planning its itineraries, we rely on our staff's thorough knowledge of Asian, European, and Middle Eastern history and culture acquired through extensive travel and study.
