We are dedicated to providing the finest instruction in Arabic for non-native speakers who wish to study abroad. Through education, we hope to foster an attitude of mutual understanding and respect between different cultures and peoples. In addition to our curriculum of Modern Standard Arabic and Colloquial Moroccan Arabic, we offer a complement of English-language classes on Islam and Morocco. Students may also choose from a selection of supplementary courses, including calligraphy, Qur’anic recitation, wood and plaster carving, lute lessons, and cooking classes. During their time at SACAL, students are invited to attend a programme of cultural events including film screenings, lectures and panel discussions. Tours of the Fez medina are offered on a regular basis, and excursions can be arranged to a variety of sites throughout Morocco. Special Courses or Features One-to-One / Private Lessons Volunteer Program Opportunities Eligibility SACAL welcomes all international students, provided space available in the desired courses. Housing/Accommodation • Homestay / Host Family • Apartment / Flat SACAL offers homestays with Moroccan families at 2750Dh (approximately $345 US) for a three-week course. This price includes all meals. SACAL can also provide assistance to students wishing to live in hotels or apartments during their stay in Fez. Prices vary according to availability and students’ requirements. Program Costs All of SACAL’s regular 3-week language courses cost 4000Dh (approximately $500 US). If there are fewer than three students, the course will be switched to private tuition. Private language classes cost 150Dh per hour for a single student and 200Dh per hour for two students.
