Overview
CELL offers life-changing service-learning study abroad programs in environmental and community sustainability. Students receive 15 semester hours of college credit and live with local families in one of the most biologically diverse regions of the world. Through experiential service learning, you will immerse yourself in another culture while receiving 15 college credits. You will travel from the mountains to the sea and explore the ecology and environmental issues confronting the people who live in these beautiful and biodiverse regions. Our programs take place in Costa Rica and Nicaragua - in some of the world's most beautiful and unusual tropical habitats. You will live with a rural village family, learn about their rich culture, and experience first-hand the friendly hospitality of the Costa Rican and Nicaraguan people.
Academic Credit
Academic credit is available.
Students receive 15 college credits during our 14 week study abroad programs.
Eligibility
A high school diploma is required for participation in our programs. But the main requirement is a sincere interest in being of service to others.
