Overview
The Summer in the Mediterranean: Early Christianity program allows students to trace the early footsteps of the Apostles as they spread Christianity westward from Cyprus to Greece and Italy. The program is taught from an academic perspective and welcomes students from all faiths and backgrounds who have an interest in religious history.
The coursework of this program focuses on early Christian thought and Art History, with an emphasis on Byzantine Art. Outside the classroom, students have visited monasteries in the mountains of Cyprus, the cave where the Apocalypse was written and the Vatican.
This program is based in Nicosia the beautiful and modern capital of Cyprus. Cyprus was the first country to convert to Christianity and has an ancient Christian and Byzantine heritage. The educational travel component of this program takes students on a ten-day trip to Greece and Italy, visiting Athens and Rome, as well as several islands in the Aegean.
