Overview
ARTIS (Art Research Tours and International Studios) is a nonprofit arts organization that hosts summer study abroad programs in the studio arts and art history in Florence, Italy. Daily field trips to museums with slide lectures. Excursions to Pisa, Siena, Venice and Rome. College credit and financial aid are available.
Free daily art history slide lectures on The Art of Florence are available for all participants during the study abroad program these last for one hour and are followed by the art history tours. Generally the morning field trips last 2-3 hours. (During the month you will be visiting over 30 famous churches and museums!) After the morning field trip we'll break for lunch. You are then free for the day or you can take advantage of your morning's inspirations by signing up for non-credit courses in Jewelry making, Batik, Textile Design and Photo-silkscreen Printmaking offered at our art school.

Costs
Include: Round Trip Air Fare - there will be a group flight from most major US cities to Rome. Individual return dates are possible at additional costs.
* Housing in furnished apts. See housing section.
* Round trip transport from Rome Airport to Florence.
* Classroom space in Florence, Approximately 15 hours per week for lectures/instruction.
* All Museum entrance fees during daily field trips.
* Hotel and/or travel costs during excursions to Pisa, Lucca, Siena, San Gimignano, Rome (three days & three nights), and Venice (three days & two nights).
* Transfers to the Rome Airport applies to the scheduled group departures only. People returning after these dates are responsible for their own bookings.
* Morning art history slide lectures.
