Overview
The University of the Valley of Guatemala offers an international service and learning experience unlike any other. Our 10-day, total immersion, Guatemala Expedition, places you on-the-ground in indigenous Mayan villages working side-by-side with farmers, rural school teachers, students, university professors, development workers and artisans. You will learn about the diversity of cultures found in Guatemala and the complex interrelationships this creates.

Working in seven different villages, you will confront the realities of the problems and solutions encountered in Humanitarian Development. The Study Abroad program of UVG provides visiting students, university faculty and staff; on-the-ground access to the challenges and solutions found in developing nations. Working in villages, with farmers, artisans, ecologists and relief workers, visitors learn about cultural heritage, humanitarian development, and environmental sustainability. UVG's goal is to give a practical, real world vantage of the complexities surrounding the solutions to the problems found in Guatemala and Central America - all while making new friends in one of the most beautiful countries in the world.

Eligibility
The 10-Day Guatemala Expedit accept world wide participants, that speaks English or Spanish. It is designed for university students and non-student adults alike.
