Overview
High school students study abroad in France without formalized classes in the dynamic Rhône Valley city of Lyon. This exciting town is home to wonderful cafés, an exciting university, medieval and Renaissance buildings, delicious food, lively pedestrian malls, and a picturesque medieval area with narrow, cobblestone streets. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Lyon has a unique mix of old and new that blend together to create a modern city that thrives on its historical beauty and charm.
This is our 8th annual exchange program in Lyon. Its popularity is due not only to the great setting, but also in large part to the warm and caring families who generously share their homes and lives with our ECI participants. Many of these families have hosted for us repeatedly and have formed long-lasting relationships with our students. Most of the families have teenagers, and we are able to match students to families based on a variety of factors, such as age, gender and hobbies. The host family teenagers are always invited to accompany our group during their daily excursions and activities, which benefits everyone involved. Students are generally placed one per family during the homestay portion.
