Overview
The Journalism program aims to connect theoretical studies of mechanisms of control over public word and minority media with practical analysis of journalism. The program offers applied courses on news sociology, media criticism and text analysis. It is well suited for master's level students of Social Sciences and/or Journalism, with or without practical experience in journalism.
Autumn semester only (24 ECTS).

Academic Credit
Academic credit is available.
All courses are awarded a certain number of credits in the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), which makes studies abroad easy to transfer to educational institutions worldwide. Students need to check with their University study abroad advisor prior to arrival how ECTS credits transfer into their national system of credit points.
Eligibility
Applicants must be graduates or currently enrolled at a higher education institution in their home country (college, university), must be min 19 of age and in good academic standing.

Dormitory
All international students are accommodated in a students dorm that was built in 2002. Each block includes 3 double rooms and is equipped with bathroom and kitchen. Laundry machines, cafe, video rental are available in the dormitory building.
Program Costs
Fee is 1450 USD and covers tuition, some course materials and a tutor to assist international students with practical issues like course registration and getting around. Accommodation, meals and living expenses are extra. International students are accommodated in modern dorms in the center of town. Double rooms start at appr. $120 a month per person. Students also need to plan on spending appr. $200-250 a month on food and basic living expenses in addition to housing costs.

Autumn semester starts in late August and lasts till mid January.
