Overview
Since 1950, IES has been building quality study abroad programs and introducing U.S. students to new places, studies, and ways of thinking. A non-profit educational organization, IES offers high academic standards and extensive financial aid in over 30 programs throughout the world.

The IES Siena program is designed for studying the Social Sciences and Humanities in a beautiful provincial setting. The program is ideal for students desiring a more intimate Italian experience. IES Siena offers a very integrated curriculum with English- and Italian-taught courses that further your understanding and appreciation for the rich artistic and cultural history of Siena. The mandatory core course The Presence of the Past, offered in both English and Italian, makes Siena the classroom through many required field study activities to important sites in and around the city. All courses are taught by Italian faculty, and students with four or more semesters of Italian are also eligible to enroll in Italian-taught courses at the Università degli Studi di Siena. In addition to the many field study activities scheduled to important sites in Siena and the Tuscan region, there is an opportunity to participate in several field trips offered during the semester.
