Characteristics of courses.
They are specially designed for foreigners who want to learn Spanish in the least possible time. They are organized in different levels according to previous knowledge, developing the four main skills necessary for the comprehensive acquisition of a foreign language: reading, writing, speaking and listening.
The academic program is complemented by learning outside the classroom situation: excursions, outings, and various other activities where the students have the chance to continue practicing the language in different communicative contexts.
Additional Information
The Spanish courses can be complemented with very interesting existing volunteering programs either with craftsmen in the mountains or activities in underpriviledged neighbourhoods in the city. Other optional possibilities are social programmes, dancing lessons, horseriding, several sports and touristic visits.
Volunteering at “Escuela Aurora” (Dawn of a New World) doing social work and giving a concrete contribution in running of workshops for local people – and their families – who have inherited artistic skills and techniques from their indigenous ancestors. The activities of the school among others are: i) spinning of llama wool, ii) weaving of tapestries and textile products, iii) metal art, iv) drawing, painting and ceramics, v) social workshops at isolated villages. in the mountains.
Since the school provides not only an artistic education but also a human and cultural development of the students, the volunteer has plenty of options with which he/she can enrich this community.
Community work in .poor neighbourhoods. Due to..unemployment and the slow process of .. recovery of the argentine political and economic crises, people in underpriviledged areas face numerous social problems... The volunteer can help in carrying out surveys to detect undernourishment; create programs to tackle drugaddiction, alcoholism, care of the environment, child care, prophylaxis, health care, citizen ethics and any other topic which he/she finds appropriate for that community
