Overview
The International Latin American Studies Organization (ILASO) is a Costa Rican organization focus on quality international education. Our programs allow college and high school students, professors, teachers and professionals to study, do interships, work, volunteer and teach in Costa Rica.
ILASO offers year, semester, trimester, summer, customized and intership programs in 3 cities in Costa Rica: San Pedro (San Jose, the capital), Heredia and Santa Cruz Guanacaste (Pacific coast). Our host universities in Costa Rica are The Universidad Latina (the largest private university in the country) and Universidad Interamericana (a member of laureate universities).
All our programs are designed to fullfill all US universities requirements and student΄s needs. The program includes home stay with costa rican host families, tuition and fees, weekend excursions, transportation, insurance, materials, cultural activities, college credits and official transcripts issued by our host universities and official translation of the transcripts by ILASO,all meals are included in the program as well as laundry.
Academic Credit
Academic credit is available.
All our courses are designed taking specific requirements of foreigh universities. ILASO already has agreements with foregin Universities that recognize our courses and give college credits, but if a student comes from a foreign university that does not have any agreement with ILASO, we provide all syllabus and all forms, so the foreign university can decide if our program fullfill their needs and students have to have a previous credit approval before enroll any of our programs.
Eligibility
Minimum age for high school participants: 16 years old.
Minimun age for college participants: 18 years old. They have to prove that they are enrolled in a foreign high school or college

Summer Programs (4 weeks): $2950
Trimester Program (12 weeks): $6450
Semester Program (15 weeks): $6500
Special schoolarships for school leaders and group discounts are offered.
Costs
Include: Includes: Airport, pick up and departure, tuitions an fees, class materials, insurance, home stay, all meals, laundry, transportation, 3 weekend excursions with all meals and room at the hotel, cultural activities, on site directors, internet access, transcripts. Price does not include airfare to Costa Rica and the $26 exit fee.
Financial Aid
Yes.
we offer schoolarships only to students coming from affilated universities. Our schoolarships cover 100% or 50% of the program. students coming from non affilated universities can ask for financial aid and we can give $400 discount if student do volunteer work 4 hours a week in Costa Rica.
