Our aim is to fully immerse students in all areas of Chinese culture, and our course is structured as such. Students will begin their Chinese experience in Tianjin at a newly-built campus, where they will receive a thorough introduction to the Chinese language and many aspects of Chinese culture such as calligraphy, martial arts, Chinese cuisine and so forth. Our school has received special dispensation from the Chinese government to hold part of the third week and the whole of the forth week in Qufu, the birthplace and residence of Confucius. Students will attend classes at the Confucian Academy in a traditional Confucian setting. In addition to this, our school will also hold excursions to sites of interest in Tianjin, Beijing and Qufu to enable students to gain an appreciation of the richness of Chinese history and culture. The aim of our summer camp program is to provide students with an understanding of China in both its traditional and its modern setting. This mixture of study in modern and traditional settings will greatly aid students in understanding the importance Chinese traditional beliefs still hold to the present day. Chinese Language School Students who enroll on our year-long Chinese language course will receive a thorough grounding in all areas of the Chinese language. Classes will be split into morning or afternoon sessions, and will last for four hours each day. The teachers themselves are all highly-experienced in teaching non-Chinese students, and are happy to assist them with any problems which may arise. For those who wish to pursue some form of part-time employment during their study time in China, our school will be able to organize paid teaching positions, either with our school or with one of the many language schools in Tianjin. Salary is at a competitive rate for Tianjin, and we will be happy to assist those interested in gaining relevant work permits and documentation. Students who successfully complete the course, including all exams and coursework, will receive an accredited certificate of proficiency in Chinese.
