Overview
Learn French Language in France:
Lyon, France’s second-largest city, is only two hours away from Paris, Marseille, and Geneva by high-speed train (TGV). Ever since the city was founded in 43 B.C.E., the former Gaul capital has benefited from its exceptional location between northern Europe and the Mediterranean, on the Saone-Rhone axis at the gateway to the Alps. During the time of the Roman Empire, Lyon, was a major center of culture and trade that lasted through the Renaissance. Modern day Lyon is a bustling metropolis still rich with history. The depth of character of this city has been recognized and has been included on the prestigious UNESCO World Heritage List.
Lyon and its people have a warm hospitality and vibrant way of life. The presence of more than 100,000 university students keeps the city pulsing with activity. With many public squares, gardens, boutiques, art galleries, sporting events and sidewalk cafes this destination has something new to discover on every street. The Lyonnais take pleasure in sharing its various attractions with visitors to make Lyon overall an enjoyable experience!
School Facilities: Our school is located downtown on the banks of the Rhone, just a few steps from Lyon's largest square, Place Bellecour . Classes are held in a beautiful 19th century building which features free WI-FI, as well as several internet-connected computer stations for participants. The 8 bright classrooms have high ceilings and everyone features a fireplace. Capacity is 95 students/day.
Participants: Majority of participants are 20-28 years but also some professionals and independent travelers. Most participants are from Europe.
