Many fields of training are available: Accounting, Advertising, Hospitality, Culinary Arts, Business, Computer Science, Finance, Tourism, Marketing, Public Law, Engineering, Public Relations as well as others.
Internships and training opportunities may be offered in 4, 6, 12 or 18-month programs. Salary varies by company. An intermediate to advanced level of English proficiency is required for most internships. Applicants should also have some school or work experience in the field they wish to study. Please contact us or visit our website for program eligibility guidelines.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this program you must live in a country where Career Training USA has a local partner office or apply through one of our partner offices abroad.
Student Interns must be 18-28 years old, and on a summer or seasonal break from their University studies. Recent graduates who have graduated no later then within the past year ( from schools outside the U.S.) can also be considered student interns. Repeat participation is allowed as long as the intern is still a university student or recent graduate.
Professional Training applicants must be 20-38 years old. A Post-secondary degree or professional certificate from an accredited institution outside the U.S. with one year experience outside the U.S. required OR five years of professional experience. Professional training may last up to 18 months ( with the except of Hospitality and Culinary Arts which can be no more then 12 months). Repeat participation is allowed but trainees must wait at least 2 years after the end of their previous J-1 Training Program.

Some employers provide housing or may offer reduced cost housing. If they do not offer housing they will assist the trainee in finding their own accomodations.
Program Costs
Program fees vary depending on the length of study ad if your job is arranged through IEX or self arranged. Please contact us for pricing. All exchange visitors on J-1 Internship and Trainee Visas are required to pay a SEVIS fee ($35 for Interns and $100 for Trainees) before petitioning a U.S. embassy for a J-1 Trainee or Internship visa. This is payable to the Department of Homeland security and not an IEX fee; it is required of all visa sponsors.
