Program Terms • Year Round Program Participants • Undergraduate (College) • Graduate (College) • High School • Adults		Quick Look • Location: Granada - Nicaragua • Language of Instruction: Spanish Overview We place students in professional and academic interships with women’s health and development organizations, public and non-profit clinics, youth organizations, housing projects, disabled youth centers, technical training programs, and others. Many of these organizations have limited economic resources to carry out the important work they do and welcome the assistance of motivated and qualified individuals. Eligibility We recommend at least one-year of college Spanish for most internship placements. Interns with limited Spanish may have a difficult time integrating into the community, their family, and the internship. However, those with limited Spanish should not be discouraged. We will work with you to find the best internship for your Spanish level. We also can provide (at an additional cost) Spanish training before you begin your internship, or during the hours that you are not working. Interns must be at least 18 years old. The only additional requirement is that you are an independent and motivated individual, dedicated to making a difference! Housing/Accommodation • Homestay / Host Family • Hostel Homestays include three meals a day and laundry service. Program Costs Internship Program (Program fees include the following: Internship placement, pre and post arrival advising and orientation, monitoring and evaluation throughout the internship, housing/lodging, transportation from airport, one cultural event or day trip, stipend for materials/supplies, and donation to the host organization.) 4 weeks $1480 6 weeks $1780 8 weeks $2080 10 weeks $2330 12 weeks $2580 Volunteer Program: (Costs include: airport pickup, homestay with meals and laundry service, one cultural/recreational excursion, volunteer placement, supervision and support, and donation to host organization.) 1 week $ 535 2 weeks $640 3 weeks $735 Dates The program is on-going, with internships and volunteer positions starting throughout the academic year. We require a minimum 4 week commitment for the Internship Program and a minimum one week commitent for the Volunteer Program.
