All teachers place the greatest emphasis on developing a student's ability to speak and comprehend Arabic by listening to native speakers, and classes are restricted to 8 students, however, they are frequently smaller. The YLC's Arabic Language Learning Program is open to students of all ability levels, with program lengths from five weeks to one year. The program costs cover instruction, supplemental Arabic language learning materials, visa extension services, transportation to and from Sana'a International Airport, cultural and historical day trips outside of Sana'a, round-trip airfare, internet usage, meals, housing and lectures on Arab history and culture. Yemen is perhaps the only country left in the Middle East where foreigners can practice their Arabic with local people and not be forced to use English or other languages and offers the international student the opportunity to live among one of the most traditional Arab societies. The center, featuring many modern amenities, is centrally located in Sana’a, the capital of the Republic of Yemen, in a residential neighborhood near the main square of the city and within walking distance of the historical Old City.
