Overview
The Florence Institute is an international school of Italian design with a Masters of Graphic Design program for students from across Europe and around the world. We focus on today's international students with all classes taught in the English language.
Located in the center of Florence, Italy, our school is an ideal place to study abroad while surrounded by fine Italian design. The Master courses are intended for graduates of specialized schools, young designers, students with professional training and/or experience in: Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Interactive Media, Communication Sciences, and Computer Sciences.
Instruction includes the execution of assignments encountered by professionals in the field. The program assists students in developing creative conceptual thinking and group responsiveness, producing sophisticated applications of design solutions, and intensive training in advanced technology.

Academic Level:
Requirements for all students applying to the Florence Institute of Design Intl :
1. Students should be at least 18 years of age
2. Students needs a high school diploma, or equivalent G.E.D.
3. Students need submit most recent transcript ( high school or university ) with their application.
Master Level Requirements:
Acceptance for master courses depends on the student’s prior level of experience. Master level courses are challenging and students will need adapt experience for admission. It is required that the student possesses a degree in a compatible design major for acceptance. Students also possessing a different degree but has working experience in a design field may also apply.

FINANCIAL AID
The Florence Institute awards financial aid in the form of grants based on need to qualified applicants. The amount of financial aid grants awarded each semester varies with a minimum of 10% of the students receiving grants. Apply early to improve your chances of receiving financial aid.
To be considered for a grant you must:
1) Be qualified for one of the Institute's programs as per the admissions page.
2) Submit either: a) a portfolio or b) an essay:
a. Portfolios should include 3 projects (renderings, drawings, arte, or models)
b. Instead of a portfolio, academic students can submit a 150 word essay explaining “Why I wish to study design in Florence”
Requirements for Financial Aid
In order to avoid a reduction in their financial aid award, during the academic year, students are required to carry a “B” average in all classes.
