Overview
 The Ixchel Spanish School in Antigua Guatemala offers one-on-one Spanish classes for students of all levels. Instructions are customized according to each student's needs, interests and learning style. We also offer special courses for travelers, volunteers, flight attendants and health care professionals.
The school was founded in 1999 and has since then become one of the leading Spanish schools in Antigua. Our teachers are carefully selected, well educated and most have at least three years of experience teaching Spanish as a second language.
The focus of our Spanish courses is conversation. Class time is roughly equally divided between grammar lessons, exercises, vocabulary building and conversation practice. This way, students improve their skills very rapidly and quickly gain confidence in their ability to communicate with native Spanish speakers in realistic everyday situations.
Classes take place in a colonial-style building with a beautiful garden courtyard, wide corridors and a rooftop terrace that offers an unforgettable view of the mountains and volcanoes surrounding Antigua.
To complete the immersion experience, we offer home stays with local families and cultural activities every day Monday thru Friday. For students who do not wish to participate in the home stay program, we can also arrange rooms at a guest house or hotel.

We offer courses with academic credit in cooperation with Universidad Rural de Guatemala, a reputable private university in Guatemala City. Credit is recognized by many colleges and universities worldwide.

We can arrange family home stay and rooms in a guest house or hotel for our students. With home stays, we have only a limited number of rooms with private bathroom available and recommend students sign up as early as practical to secure one of them.

Family home stay:
US$75.00 per person per week for a room with shared bathroom
US$90.00 per person per week for a room with private bathroom
Guest house:
US$65.00 for a single room (1 person)

Costs
Include: Course fee includes all class materials except a dictionary. Home stay includes breakfast, lunch and dinner Mon-Fri, breakfast and lunch Saturday. No meals Saturday night, Sunday and on national holidays. Guest house does not include meals.
Dates
Courses begin every Monday year round. For students arriving mid-week we can arrange to start on other days of the week upon request.
