Overview
Crossing Borders Global Studies at Krogerup Folk School in Denmark is an exciting semester program for globally-minded and socially-committed students. The program is a life-changing experience at an exceptional value. The program is designed to enable students to build the skills, theoretical and practical, to help them understand the issues affecting their lives. The aim of the program is to enable students to think and act internationally and to make a positive difference in their lives and the world around them. Through projects and classes the participants learn to work together across borders and across cultures toward mutual understanding. The program includes a week and a half of travel to Europe and/or the Middle East.

Program highlights include:
Live, study, and develop projects with fellow students from around the world;
Examine globalization through the lens of fair trade, freedom of speech, religious fundamentalism, and climate change;
Explore roots of democracy and despotism;
Gain skills in inter-group conflict resolution;
Acquire tools for analyzing international conflicts;
Undertake study tours to UNESCO in Paris and the FAO/WFP in Rome;
Visits and placements at Danish NGOs that are active in making the world a better place;
Preparation for higher university education and/or work in international organizations;
Free access to the world-famous Louisiana Museum of Modern Arts in Denmark.
Crossing Borders is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that provides a neutral space and skills training for youth and educators from societies in conflict. The concet of Crossing Borders is defined as learning to live, study, and work together on issues of common interest and concern, with tangible and useful output in absolute equality.
Scandinavian Seminar is a non-profit organization in Amherst, Massachusetts that offers curriculum-based international summer programs for high school students and teachers. We offer financial aid. Our programs offer global perspectives on issues of cross cultural-importance from environmentalism to peace studies. Scandinavian Seminar is a leader in international educational travel since 1949.

Program Costs
$6,800.00 for January semester;
$5,800.00 for August semester
Costs
Include: The program includes semester tuition, room and board, travel during the program, entrance fees, and visits. The program does not include airfare to and from the program.
