Overview
Studio Art Centers International (SACI) is recognized as one of the leading overseas institutions in the areas of studio art, design, art history, art conservation and Italian language and cultural studies. SACI was founded in 1975 to create a complete program in Florence for students seeking excellence in studio art and liberal arts instruction at the United States university level; courses are offered in 40 different Studio and Academic disciplines at all skill levels. SACI is housed in a 17th Century landmark building, the Palazzo dei Cartelloni, which has retained its Baroque magnificence while facilitating contemporary art studies. Other SACI facilities in teh heart of Florence include: the Design Center, Graduate Center, Art Crafts Center, and Fresco Studio.
Academic Credit
Academic credit is available.
SACI is an accredited institutional member of the National Asscociation of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD) and accredited for undergraduate and graduate US university level study through it's affiliation with Bowling Green State University in Ohio.
Eligibility
Undergraduates in good standing at any college, university, or art school with a minimum GPA of 2.75. Independent US or International students who meet equivalent US standards may also apply. Must be at least 18 years of age.
