It is the capital of the state of Morelos with about 450,000 permanent residents. Because of its year-round mild climate (average temperature 75°) and its lush and beautiful flora, Cuernavaca is known as the “City of Eternal Spring”. The atmosphere tends to be that of a big town, rather than a big city. The people are friendly, and life is relaxed and easy going. The main square, Zócalo, is always alive. It is surrounded by sidewalk cafés, restaurants and bookstores. Street musicians (mariachis) and outdoor markets are also prevalent. The school is located in a quiet residential area of Cuernavaca. Landscaped grounds, fountains, swimming pools and an outdoor patio/café contribute a quiet and pleasant atmosphere. Students that attend the school are between the ages of 13 and 80, and come from all over the world. Classes are taught by experienced, well-qualified, Spanish-speaking instructors. The class sizes are very small, only five students per instructor. Classes may take place outside of the classrooms. For example, students may go on walking trips to local markets and shops with their instructors to practice their Spanish. Eligibility Must be at least 13 years of age.
