The goals of the program are to offer students a theoretical foundation of conservation and sustainability; hands-on exposure to its practices through visits and a local internship; courses in Spanish language; opportunities to use Spanish in daily life; and appreciation of Costa Rican natural history, diversity, and beauty. Academic Credit Academic credit is available.  Recommended Credit semester: 17 semester/25.5 quarter hours Eligibility - 2.75 GPA - 3 semesters of college-level environmental studies - Some college-level Spanish recommended Housing/Accommodation • Homestay / Host Family - Costa Rican homestays - Simple hotels or field stations during overnight excursions Program Costs Current pricing will begin to be available on 8/15/08 on our website. Costs Include:  CIEE program fees, inclusions, and estimated additional costs, are outlined below. Please note that CIEE reserves the right to adjust its fees in the event of significant change in exchange rates or other factors beyond its control.
