Overview
University students and recent graduates can gain supervised, practical training in their chosen field while deepening their understanding of Spanish culture and business practices. Barcelona is a major commercial center with opportunities for professional development in a variety of fields. Interns are placed in voluntary internships in the Spanish coastal city of Barcelona. Home to spectacularly imaginative architecture, an avant-garde arts scene, world class museums and a lively night life, Barcelona is an exciting place to live and work.
As a Greenheart Travel Internship participant, you will be placed in an internship related to your course of study while living with a screened host family. It's a wonderful way to improve your foreign language fluency and gain real world experience!
Internship programs are typically available for 1-4 months throughout the year. You may choose the dates of your program. Dates and duration are subject to availability, but Greenheart Travel will work with you to accommodate your needs. In addition to living with a host family for the duration of the program, you will be supported by the Greenheart Travel partner office in country should there be questions or difficulties in adjusting to your new host family, community or internship environment.
Interns are expected to participate in the internship 30-40 hours per week. All internships are volunteer positions, so you should not expect to be paid for your experience. Generally, "business casual" is appropriate attire during business hours.
Participants will be given a Certificate of Completion at the end of the program, and most employers will be happy to write a letter of recommendation upon request. Previous experience in your area of study is highly recommended and previous foreign travel is desirable, but not required.
