Overview
Take advantage of the opportunity to involve yourself in Kaya's volunteering programs in Salvador's magnificent natural setting on the mouth of the enormous bay of Todos os Santos. Be involved in helping small communities and individuals with their business development plans and practices, improving their health practices and environmental education in order for the people to break the poverty cycle and achieve healthier, more productive lifestyles.
Join Kaya's community empowerment project that provides educational classes, vocational workshops, meals for children, sports, arts and other social and enrichment activities. Our goal is to improve the economic status of the communities, as well as their general health, and help them obtain a sustainable lifestyle.
Bahia's capital of Salvador sits on a spit of land sticking south south-west into the Atlantic Ocean. And although it sits well within the tropics at a southern latitude, it receives a refreshing sea-breeze which seldom falters until the early hours of the morning when things have generally cooled off anyway. The city is situated on a huge bay, a Baia de Todos os Santos, which means Bay of All Saints, and the land is predominently hill and valley.
